Natete Police are investigating a shocking case of attempted murder in Busega, Rubaga Division, after a 29-year-old man was reportedly stabbed multiple times by his wife early Tuesday morning.
The victim, a salesman with Double Q Sinotruk, suffered deep cuts to the head and body after the attack at around 2:00 a.m. Police say the suspect, identified as Joy, abandoned their nine-month-old baby with the father just five days earlier on January 1.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Kawala Racheal says the landlord reported the incident immediately while a friend rushed the injured man to Rubaga Hospital for urgent treatment. Kawala says officers at the scene found blood stains across the floor, walls, and clothing, along with a panga believed to have been used in the attack.
She explains that preliminary investigations suggest the couple had been living together for about two years. According to Kawala, police are now tracing the suspect, who remains at large.
“Men suffer equally from domestic violence, just as women do. We encourage all victims to speak up and seek help. The Child and Family Protection Units are available at all police stations.” she said
Locals allege that the couple has consistently accused each other of infidelity.
