Alien Skin boldly he is convinced that he is on the same level as National Unity Platform (NUP) honcho, Bobi Wine and the controversial singer is loud about it. The declaration was delivered with the confidence of a man who has never once been humbled by a comment section.
According to Alien Skin, this is not a metaphor, a vibe, or a motivational quote. No. This is a ranking. Same level. Same standards. Same influence. If Bobi Wine has a political base, Alien Skin has a fan base. If Bobi Wine has supporters in red berets, Alien Skin has supporters in ripped jeans and Bluetooth speakers. Tomato, tomahto.
Appearing in a live TikTok discussion, Alien Skin explained that his reach on the streets and social media places him shoulder-to-shoulder with the opposition leader. The fact that one is a former presidential candidate and the other is a hitmaker with a talent for controversy was, apparently, a minor administrative detail.
“I deserve the same recognition and respect,” Alien Skin declared, a statement that immediately sent social media analysts scrambling to update their CVs, because clearly, the rules of influence have changed. Parliament? Votes? Manifestos? Outdated. The new measure of national leadership is now who can trend by 9 a.m.
“I am on the same level with Bobi Wine, the same standards, and I want his supporters to know that. I have a huge following and influence across the country like him. I deserve to be celebrated and supported,” Alien Skin said.
To be fair, Alien Skin does command a youthful following, particularly among ghetto youth. His music blasts from boda bodas, street corners, and speakers that sound like they’ve survived three wars. In today’s Uganda, that kind of visibility is no small thing. Still, comparing that to Bobi Wine’s journey…from ghetto to Parliament to presidential ballot, felt a bit like comparing a megaphone to a movement.
But satire aside, Alien Skin is serious. Very serious. Deadly serious. He wants NUP supporters to stop attacking him, presumably because it’s hard to enjoy fame when thousands of people are live-tweeting your downfall. The beef between Alien Skin and the NUP online brigade has now dragged on for nearly two years, making it one of Uganda’s longest-running digital soap operas… complete with insults, screenshots, and the occasional motivational caption.
The beef reportedly began when Alien Skin committed the ultimate social sin: switching sides. After breaking ranks with the opposition and cozying up to the yellow bus, he triggered heartbreak, betrayal, and a collective unfollowing so intense it could be felt in neighboring districts. In Ugandan politics, changing lanes without indicating is a very serious offense.
Since then, Alien Skin has leaned fully into his role as Uganda’s Minister of Controversy. Every statement is bold. Every appearance is loud. Every comparison is… ambitious. While Bobi Wine talks about governance, democracy, and human rights, Alien Skin talks about respect, recognition, and why people should stop coming for him in his mentions.
And maybe that’s the real takeaway here. In a country where politics increasingly feels like performance art and social media is the loudest rally ground, influence itself has become a flexible concept. If you can move crowds, start conversations, and keep the internet busy, congratulations! You might just be on some level.
Is it the same level as Bobi Wine? That depends on who you ask, and how loud their speaker is.
