Green Daddy has found himself at the center of an emotional and controversial storm after a heartbreaking incident at Mulago Specialized Hospital that has sparked fierce debate online and offline.

What began as a father’s desperate search for help reportedly turned into a raw public outcry (streamed live on TikTok) after the tragic death of his newborn child.
Videos circulating on social media show the visibly distraught musician pacing hospital corridors, phone in hand, raising his voice in anguish. In the footage, Green Daddy accuses medical staff of negligence, claiming he had earlier approached a doctor for guidance as his child’s condition worsened.
According to the singer, the response he received left him feeling dismissed and powerless. He alleges the doctor told him that everyone is treated the same regardless of status or money, a statement that seemed to deepen his frustration rather than reassure him.
Moments later, tragedy struck. His child passed away.
In the emotional live broadcast, Green Daddy shouted through hospital hallways, demanding answers and attention. Fellow patients attempted to calm him down, but the grieving father insisted his voice needed to be heard.
“Everyone has gathered, but no doctor has come to explain anything,” he said during the livestream. “Mine has died, and if I hadn’t spoken up, they would have let it go. I’m a musician and one of our jobs is to raise voices for those who cannot.”
His words struck a nerve across the country, igniting conversations about healthcare accountability, communication between patients and medical staff, and the emotional toll families face in overcrowded hospitals.
Online reactions have been intense and mixed. Some supporters say his outburst reflects the pain and helplessness many Ugandan families silently endure in public hospitals. Others argue that while grief is understandable, threatening behavior and chaos in a medical facility can disrupt care for other patients.
Health professionals and observers have also called for caution, noting that investigations and official statements are necessary before conclusions about negligence are drawn.
The incident has exposed deeper frustrations about healthcare systems, communication gaps, and how tragedy is handled when it happens under public scrutiny.
