For years, the rumor mill has worked overtime, churning out tales of a cold war between Gagamel boss Bebe Cool and Big Talent president Eddy Kenzo. Fans whispered. Blogs speculated. Comment sections turned into battlegrounds. But over the weekend, Bebe Cool decided it was time to tune the noise down.

Speaking during a TikTok Live session, the Gagamel chief addressed the alleged beef head-on, and spoiler alert: there isn’t any.
“I don’t have any problem with the young man Eddy Kenzo. I don’t hate him as per the allegations,” Bebe Cool stated calmly, dismantling years of social media assumptions in one breath. In fact, he went a step further, revealing that he has encouraged people to join the federation, a move he says he wouldn’t make if there was personal animosity involved.
“I actually convinced many people to join the federation and wouldn’t do so if I hated him,” he explained.
Translation? This isn’t a rivalry. It’s respect.
Part of the speculation stemmed from claims that Bebe Cool’s media team deliberately ignored Kenzo’s performances during political campaign events. But according to Bebe Cool, the narrative was missing context.
The journalists and TikTok influencers accompanying him, he explained, had one specific assignment: to cover President Yoweri Museveni and no one else.

“The journalists and TikTokers didn’t cover Kenzo because they were hired to do a different thing. They came to specifically give coverage to President Museveni,” he clarified, suggesting the omission wasn’t personal but professional.
In an industry where competition is often mistaken for conflict, Bebe Cool’s remarks feel like a reset button. Rather than throwing subtle jabs or fueling speculation, he chose transparency. And in doing so, he may have just silenced one of Uganda’s most persistent music myths.
