Police Force says four suspects are in their custody in connection with the murder and robbery of Kokunda Patricia, which occurred on Saturday, 3 April 2026.
Kokunda was attacked on that fateful day, at approximately 10 PM, near Teso Coach Park along Station Road, Soroti City, in the vicinity of Goalman Supermarket.
Police Spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke in a latest update provided on Monday said that the victim was attacked by armed assailants, robbed, and fatally shot while at the coach park.
Two suspects, Okello Alex and Onego Felix, were arrested on the day of the incident, only hours after the attack, due to rapid police intervention and investigative work. A third suspect, Epeu Simon, also known as Ibodo, was apprehended in Anyara, Kalaki District, from whom UGX 7,000,000 believed to have been stolen was recovered.
He further expalined that the following day they managed to arrest the alleged shooter, Erachu Alfred, in Orungo, Amuria District. His arrest followed a confession by his co- accused. Kituuma says Erachu is suspected of firing the weapon that killed Kokunda . Her smartphone was also retrieved after being discarded in a bush in Kichinjani.
Rusoke has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any information that could assist in ongoing investigations. He has called for security measures at transport hubs in Soroti City to be increased to prevent similar incidents in the future.
