Jowy Landa has hit back hard at fellow musician Kapeke after he branded her “old” during a recent interview and she is not losing sleep over it!
The drama exploded after Kapeke warned during an interview with Galaxy TV’s Rewind team, not to place him in the same age bracket as the “Am Badder” singer. According to him, Jowy Landa was already dominating the music scene while he was still a teenager in Senior One.
Kapeke claimed that when Jowy released her breakout collaboration “African Girl” with Pallaso, he was only 15 years old and still figuring out life in school.
But Jowy was quick to shut down the claims, insisting she only started her music career in 2019 at the age of 17, meaning Kapeke was exaggerating her age for cheap talk.
“I’m an old person, and I cannot deny that,” Jowy said confidently. “But even if I’m older, I still look better than him. He should pray hard to age as beautifully as I have. Honestly, he’s the one looking 45!”
The outspoken singer did not stop there. She accused Kapeke of disrespecting artists who paved the way before him, saying he only recently got his breakthrough hit while she has remained relevant for years.
“Getting one hit song doesn’t make you young,” she fired. “He started music way before, but things simply refused to work out for him. Now that he finally has a hit, he shouldn’t disrespect the people he found in the industry.”
Jowy even flipped the “old” label into a badge of honor, proudly calling herself a legend in the game.
“It doesn’t bother me because we are all growing,” she explained. “In fact, it’s respect. I’m a legend, and that’s why people like him keep talking about me. It’s an honor to be this old and still look hot!”
Fans online have since been divided, with some backing Jowy for standing her ground while others believe Kapeke was simply joking around.
