Drama continues at the Nakasero home of former Speaker of Parliament Annet Anita Among as security operatives today hauled away more luxury rides in a fresh wave of impoundments.
In the first batch, two more vehicles, a Land Cruiser UBH138W and another Land Cruiser UA630BE were loaded onto police recovery trucks and driven off from the residence. Then later another two including a Maybach Registration Number AAA1 and Lexus UBP704Y.
This brings the total number of seized cars to SIX, joining an earlier Range Rover and a Rolls Royce already taken away.
Operation continues, turning the high-profile residence into a scene of heavy security activity.
It is turning into one of the biggest political storms in Kampala as security agencies tighten the noose around former Speaker of Parliament Annet Anita Among in a fast-moving corruption crackdown.
CID, IGG and military intelligence teams are now deep inside what sources are calling a “full-scale asset hunt” targeting luxury cars, homes, and even Parliament offices.
Infact, the Chief of Defence Forces General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has named this crackdown ” Operation Maliza Ufisadi.”
He posted on his official X platform; ” ‘0peration Maliza Ufisadi’ has just began, already we have retrieved quite a lot of the people’s money and property. Everything will be returned to the Treasury. I will give a partial report soon. I advise all government officials to co-operate fully with the security services…in order to avoid arrest.”
Adding that; “The President allowed this Operation to arrest anybody in Uganda except the President and First Lady. Everybody else in this country can be arrested.”
The CDF has also said that the 3.4 billion shillings Rolls Royce Cullinan 2025 ride that was impounded by the security operatives from her multi billion residence in Kigo will be auctioned off and the monies returned to the treasury.
He wrote: “We captured the Rolls-Royce. It’s under our control. We shall auction it and recover the funds of the state.”
It all started with a dramatic raid on her Nakasero residence last weekend, where security operatives stormed the home and spent hours combing through rooms and safes in a high-intensity search.
Days later, things escalated fast as a Rolls Royce Cullinan UA426EH and Range Rover AAA were carted away from her property in Kigo.
The flashy vehicles were loaded onto police recovery trucks under heavy security, turning the estates into scenes of drama and tension and Kampala town into a frenzy. Allegations of huge amounts of money pilled in three rooms at the Nakasero residence also surfaced. It has also been alleged that her mobile phones and passports were impounded.
Shock waves then hit Parliament itself when investigators sealed off the Speaker’s offices on the fifth floor, blocking staff and declaring the area a crime scene on Tuesday.
Forensic teams moved in, collecting files, laptops, and financial records as MPs looked on in disbelief. Lawyer Caleb Alaka was present as officers moved in and out of the property, with sources saying investigators were hunting for cash, documents, and electronic records.
Now the drama has deepened again , two more Land Cruisers (UBH138W and UA630BE) have been seized from her Nakasero residence.
That brings the total to FOUR vehicles impounded, joining the earlier Range Rover and Rolls Royce.
Among is being probed over alleged illicit enrichment, corruption, and money laundering is still active and far from over.
