The bitter battle over the ownership and royalties of the hit collaboration See You Tonight has taken another dramatic twist, with singer Omega 256 publicly challenging fellow artist Cindy Sanyu to provide proof that she financed the project.

The dispute, which has dominated entertainment circles in recent weeks, centers on who owns the rights to the song and who should benefit from its earnings.

Speaking out on the controversy in an interview with the Evening Rush crew, Omega 256 revealed that before the song was recorded, both her management and Cindy Sanyu’s team held discussions regarding ownership of the project. According to the Western Uganda-based singer, the parties agreed that whoever funded the production would automatically own the project.

Omega claims her management ultimately accepted the financial responsibility and settled all the costs associated with the song, including recording, mastering, and shooting the music video.

“We funded the project in agreement that we own the project, and that’s why I uploaded the song on my YouTube channel,” Omega said.

The singer expressed shock at Cindy’s recent claims that she was unfairly treated regarding ownership and royalty sharing.

According to Omega, she possesses documentary evidence showing payments made to everyone involved in the production process, including the producer, mastering engineer, and video director.

“I say all this out of respect because Cindy is an elder to me, my favourite artist, my friend, and my president in UMA. I give her respect,” Omega stated.

However, despite the respect she says she holds for the veteran singer, Omega did not hold back in challenging Cindy to produce evidence of her own.

“Let her present the receipts that prove that she funded the project because I have mine,” Omega said.

In one of her strongest remarks yet, Omega questioned Cindy’s knowledge of the project’s technical and financial details.

“I’m sure she doesn’t even know who mastered that song. I’m sure she doesn’t know how much the video cost,” she added.

The escalating disagreement has left fans divided, with many calling on both artists and their management teams to resolve the matter amicably before the controversy overshadows the success of the song itself.

As the war of words intensifies, all eyes are now on Cindy Sanyu’s camp to see whether they will respond with evidence to counter Omega’s claims.
