Weasel has found himself at the center of fresh controversy after reports claimed he was chased away from the vigil of fallen musician Master Parrot

Singer Weasel Manizo has found himself at the center of fresh controversy after reports claimed he was chased away from the vigil of fallen musician Master Parrot in Kiwatule.

The incident, which quickly ignited heated debate across social media, allegedly unfolded after some mourners took issue with Weasel’s choice of yellow clothing, a colour many Ugandans commonly associate with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

As criticism mounted, Weasel’s queen, Sandra Teta, stepped forward to defend the father of her children, urging the public to look beyond the headlines and remember the singer’s contribution to Uganda’s music industry.

“Weasel deserves respect despite the mistakes which have come his way. He is a man who has done so many good things for the industry. Wearing yellow doesn’t simply mean one supports NRM,” Sandra said.

Her comments have added a new twist to an already emotional story, with many fans divided over whether politics should have any place at a funeral vigil.

Sandra admitted that her husband has experienced his fair share of personal struggles and public controversies over the years. However, she insisted that these challenges should not erase the legacy he has built through music and his impact on the entertainment industry.

The debate surrounding the alleged incident has continued to dominate online conversations, with supporters arguing that clothing colour should not be used to judge a person’s political beliefs or intentions.

Weasel, one of Uganda’s most celebrated music stars, rose to fame as one half of the legendary Goodlyfe Crew alongside the late Mowzey Radio. Together, the duo produced numerous hit songs that shaped the country’s music scene before Radio’s untimely death. Weasel has since continued his career as a solo artist while remaining a prominent figure in the industry.

Despite the growing controversy, the singer has yet to publicly address the claims that he was forced to leave the vigil.
