There’s fresh celebrity drama brewing in East Africa, and it’s playing out for everyone to see on social media.

Bebe Cool has publicly accused former Miss Rwanda Jolly Mutesi of being behind an alleged scheme that cost him money.

According to a series of posts on X, the singer claims he was conned “in the name of Rwanda and Arsenal Football Club” during conversations related to his son’s football ambitions.

Bebe Cool didn’t hold back, alleging that he has evidence linking Mutesi to the incident and claiming that other people may have been targeted as well. He also suggested that the alleged scammers believed he would stay silent because of his family life, only for him to take the accusations public.

The singer further claimed that money was allegedly routed through contacts in Uganda, though he has yet to publicly release evidence supporting the allegations.

But the story took another turn when Jolly Mutesi responded.

The former beauty queen quickly denied any involvement, saying that she herself has been the victim of impersonation. In a statement shared on X, Mutesi said someone had created fake accounts using her identity and warned the public not to interact with unverified profiles claiming to be her.

“It has come to my attention that someone has created a fake account and is impersonating me,” she wrote, urging people to exercise caution online.

For now, it’s a classic case of accusation versus denial, with social media serving as the courtroom of public opinion. Neither side has publicly produced conclusive evidence to settle the matter, and no official findings have been announced regarding the claims.
