Light is Uganda’s prepaid electricity meter service (formerly called Yaka by many users). Your meter number is required when buying units and resolving token issues. This guide explains how to check your meter number on both Conlog and Hexing meters.

Check Light Meter Number on Conlog Meters (Formerly Yaka)

Method 1: Press #100#

On a Conlog meter keypad, dial #100#. Your meter number will display on the screen. Save it immediately (write it down or take a photo).

Method 2: Contact customer support (UEDCL service transition context)

Method 3: Check previous UMEME messages

This method requires the user to check previous messages from UMEME. Each message that entails the token number has a Light meter number (formerly Yaka meter number).

Check Light Meter Number on Hexing Meter (Formerly Yaka)

Method 1: Press Q804

For Hexing meters, use Q804 to display your meter number. Hexing commands typically use the Q + code format.

Method 2: Check previous UMEME messages

This method requires the user to check previous messages from UMEME. Each message that entails the token number has Yaka meter number.
