Here is how to fix Safaricom App Not Working

Take these steps to fix your Safaricom app;

1. Check your internet connection:

One of the primary reasons why the Safaricom app may not be working properly is due to a weak or unstable internet connection. Start by checking if you have a stable internet connection on your device. Ensure that you connected to Safaricom mobile data. You won’t be able to access the app via WiFi. That being said, there are other things that you need to straighten out like;

  • An active Safaricom bundle.
  • Connect your Mobile data to Safaricom line.
  • Disable any VPN connection or WiFi connection.

2. Activate the Safaricom App

To use the MySafaric app, you will need to activate it by connecting it with your Safaricom number. Therefore, before you can fully utilize the MySafaricom app, activating the application, especially when you are abroad is essential. The app provides convenience and enables you to access various Safaricom products and services like M-PESA and so much more. To activate your App;

  • Start the My Safaricom app on your phone.
  • Key in your Safaricom number.
  • An OTP will be sent to the number you entered earlier. Enter the OTP in the app as prompted.
  • Just like that, the app will be activated.

3. Update the Safaricom app:

Outdated versions of the Safaricom app may encounter compatibility issues or bugs that can lead to malfunctioning. To fix this, go to your device’s app store (Google Play Store for Android or App Store for iOS) and check if an updated version of the Safaricom app is available. If an update is available, install it to ensure you have the latest bug fixes and improvements.

4. Clear app cache and data:

Over time, cached data and accumulated temporary files can cause the Safaricom app to slow down or encounter errors. To clear the app cache and data:

  • Android:
    • Go to Settings > Apps > Safaricom.
    • Tap on “Storage” or “Storage & cache.”
    • Select “Clear cache” and “Clear data.”
  • iOS:
    • Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage.
    • Find and tap on the Safaricom app.
    • Tap on “Offload App” to remove the app temporarily, or “Delete App” to remove it completely.
    • Reinstall the app from the App Store.

6. Restart your Device

Performing a simple restart can often resolve temporary glitches or conflicts that might be affecting the Safaricom app. Restart your device by turning it off completely, waiting for a few seconds, and then turning it back on. Once the device restarts, open the Safaricom app to check if the issue has been resolved.
