ABW Supervisor job at Yalelo

JOB OVERVIEW:

The ABW supervisor is responsible for tracking growth of Fish by collecting accurate data / sample on average body weight of fish and ensuring that the utmost care is taken towards the fish being sampled.

KEY DUTIES:

• Ensure strict adherence to all Health and Safety Policies for both individual and team activities.
• Coordinate with feed supervisors to schedule cage sampling efficiently.
• Plan and oversee all Average Body Weight (ABW) and transfer-related activities.
• Ensure accuracy and reliability in sampling processes and reporting.
• Minimize stress during fish transfers and sampling procedures.
• Ensure precise counting and accurate calculations.
• Report findings accurately and logically using the provided templates.
• Raise and address any issues related to cage transfers promptly.
• Track and maintain inventories of all equipment used.
• Support and manage the team in handling HR-related issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times.
• Ensure proper care and maintenance of all equipment.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

• A diploma in fisheries or a bachelor’s degree in fisheries and aquaculture is an added advantage.
• Has experience in fish handling
• Action and detail-oriented.
• Must understand that this is a job that you are working on water most of the time.
• Must be able to swim
• Should be physically fit
