As Country Liaison Advisor in the African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL), you bring the broader picture of the pan-African hub on effective school leadership to the partners in the country and represent the country context towards the ACSL partners at the continental level.
Reporting to the ACSL Regional Coordinator based in Kenya, you will collaborate closely with pan-African as well as Country programme staff, and with other LIT-LEAD partners at both cross-country and in-country levels.
Result areas of this position:
- You represent the ACSL towards current and future implementation partners in Uganda, and you ensure alignment of the LIT programme with the partner country's needs and context.
- You support setting up appropriate structures and working arrangements to ensure active and smooth coordination to implement the LIT-LEAD programme among all partners involved in the programme in the country, including national stakeholders and ACSL implementing partners in Uganda.
- You actively contribute to the school leadership mapping exercise to identify needs and opportunities in strengthening school leadership, with special focus on policy development and reform, professional development, research, sector coordination and gender, equity and social inclusion. You ensure a strong understanding of the country’s context.
- You are a connector between the national (country) component and the pan-African component for support and collaboration with the ACSL pan-African team, which includes a decentralised coalition of partners, to provide technical advice and expertise on effective school leadership to the national partners in charge of the programme implementation.
- You support in the planning, implementation and follow-up on delivery of project activities in the country and the communication of regular process and project updates both internally with the ACSL partners and externally, including reporting to partners.
