Our client is a multinational Organization in the automotive industry looking to hire an Accountant to be based in Kampala. The ideal candidate will be responsible for payments, collections, receive and release customers, as well as keeping reports of the payment transactions. The successful candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role in a busy environment with high attention to details and accounting skills. Knowledge in the use of SAP ERP will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities:
Providing support to the Accounting Department; (Function centralized in Kenya)
Filing Monthly tax returns including VAT, withholding taxes, statutory taxes and ensure general tax compliance.
Monthly tax ledger reconciliations.
Coordination with government authorities like URA, NSSF, OSHA etc.
Reconciliation of accounts payable and receivables.
Support in reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information from clients, suppliers, banks.
Assist finance manager in coordination of the annual external audit and other statutory audits.
General finance and accounting daily administration duties in liaison with the Finance team in Kenya
Assist with any other accounting projects
Petty cash
Any other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
Have a relevant bachelor’s degree in accounting from a recognized University.
Must be a registered member of the ICPAU and in good standing
Knowledge in the use of SAP ERP will be an added advantage
Have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be well organized and have excellent management skills.
Must be self-driven and able to work under minimal supervision.
Must be a team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.
