Position summary:
The accountant is responsible for all financial records and filling for all operations following the Uganda systems. Support the finance team in financial management and general administration as well as preparation of accounting information and providing high quality support service to the operations team.
ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Preparation of debtor’s reconciliations, creditors reconciliations and payments.
- Ensure accounting records systems are maintained in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Prepare and submit monthly and annual VAT, income tax and other statutory submissions as well as ensuring timeouts payment thereof.
- Prepare and maintain the month-end closing file with all expenses and balance sheet items reconciled and property supported.
- Manage relations with financial stakeholders’ i.e. financial institutions, auditors, public officials as well as Country Revenue Authority (URA).
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCES.
- Excellent knowledge of the company act and related rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of finance and accounting software packages (QuickBooks, tally, Sage, Pastel)
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and communicate solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the accounting department using software within a manufacturing sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field .
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA or others are an added advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks and others is an added advantage
