Job purpose:

Provide medical management and anesthetic care to patients before, during, and after surgery. This role is critical in ensuring patient safety and comfort in the theatre and intensive care settings.

Key duties and responsibilities

Provide anaesthesia to patients under various procedures (local, regional, and general).

Conduct pre-and post-operative assessments to ensure patient readiness and stability.

Continuously monitor patients’ vital life functions during surgery.

Participate in the management of emergencies and provide resuscitation services.

Maintain anaesthetic equipment and ensure its functionality and safety.

Maintain professional conduct, adhere to infection prevention protocols, and participate in departmental meetings and CMEs.

Assist with planning, budgeting, and reporting for anaesthesia activities.

Qualifications:

Diploma in Anaesthesia from a recognized institution is required.

A valid license is a must.

Full registration with the relevant professional body is mandatory.

A minimum of 12 months of experience is preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of anaesthetic principles and infection control protocols.
