Background

Soroti University is a Public University in Uganda located in Soroti City, Eastern Uganda Seven (7) kilometres along Soroti-Moroto Road. The University Secretary hereby invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the vacant posts listed below that exist in the University:

Purpose of the Job

Assist the Senior Staff in teaching and examining undergraduate students, conducting practicals and research activities.

Person Specifications

  • Master of Science Degree in Physiology.
  • MBChB or MBBS or BDS or BNS or BMLS.
  • Demonstrate competence in computer and communication skills.
  • Registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners’ Council or the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council or the Uganda Allied Health Professional Council with a valid practicing license.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting in preparing lectures, practicals and conducting them to undergraduate students.
  • Assisting in setting tests, examinations and coursework according to University Standards.
  • Assisting in marking tests and examination scripts and compiling results according to grading standards of the University.
  • Assisting in administering and invigilating tests, examinations and coursework according to University standards.
  • Assisting in supervising students undertaking research in line with the University’s guidelines and regulations.
  • Participating in research.

Key Outputs

  • Lectures prepared and delivered to undergraduate students.
  • Tests, examinations and coursework set, marked and results compiled.
  • Tests, examinations and coursework administered.
