McDermott is hiring a CBI Driver to lead a business enabling function that is recognized as best in class that is predictive rather than reactionary in its delivery and deployment of Company’s Travel Co-ordination methodology. The role shall apply functional and technical knowledge and skills to perform at a high level. Possesses a knowledge of McDermott Travel management systems with a view to extending that knowledge to others.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand the Company principles of all process and systems associated with a Travel Management function such as Journey Management, Vehicle tracking platforms, Vehicle fleet management, maintenance and co-ordination and all associated reporting criteria and documentation
The Driver will report to the lead Travel
The driver will ensure the vehicle is mechanically sound and has all the necessary and required equipment to complete the journey.
The driver will complete the vehicle inspection report before and after each days activity
The driver will be responsible for his vehicle, load, passengers and for driving safely as per the Journey Plan criteria
The driver will not embark on his journey until such time as all the relevant documentation is in place and the Lead Travel authorizes it.
The driver will maintain communications with Lead Travel especially with respect to any deviations from the intended route or destination.
The driver will be fully conversant with Company Emergency Response actions whilst in transit
The driver will be fully conversant with the process for reporting an accident or other incident as per company process
The driver will have good local area knowledge and be confident in dealing with 3rd party individuals, drivers or security forces.
The driver will be smartly attired at all times and punctual
The driver will be required to know the location of the main hospitals and police stations in the area
Promote good driving practices amongst other drivers, be able to recommend improvements to the process if viable
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
+10 years’ driving experience
A clean driving license with no previous disqualifications
Experience in working within employers QHSES system through application on previous projects
Ability to work as a team member as well as act as team leader
Maintain key competencies associated with the Travel function
Communication skills, English both written and spoken
Computer literate on Microsoft programs: Word, Power Point, Excel, Project
Be conversant with local laws, regulations and norms.
