Background

Our client is seeking to hire a Carpenter who will be responsible for crafting, repairing and finishing furniture by upholstering, varnishing and performing joinery work to meet the company’s quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Upholster furniture items, ensuring a high standard of finish.
• Apply varnish, stains, and other finishes to furniture surfaces.
• Perform joinery tasks such as assembly and repairs of wooden furniture.
• Follow design and safety specifications while working.
• Inspect furniture items for quality and correct any defects.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Ensure a clean and safe working environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in upholstery, varnishing, or joinery
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Certificate or diploma in carpentry, upholstery, or furniture making (preferred but not mandatory)
• Hands-on technical skills with traditional tools (hammers, saws, staplers, spray guns, etc.)
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials and furniture
• Willingness to learn new techniques and improve skills through on-the-job training
