Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a passionate Volunteer Counsellor to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will support the emotional and psychological wellbeing of young people in street situations and juvenile rehabilitation settings, playing a critical role in their healing, reintegration, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide counselling services to street-connected children and juveniles.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and psychosocial support activities.
  • Assist in designing trauma-informed interventions.
  • Work closely with our team of clinical psychologists, social workers, trainers, and family mediators.
  • Offer emotional support during family tracing, mediation, and reintegration processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical counselling standards.

Who We Are Looking For

  • A background in counselling, psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience (or strong interest) in working with vulnerable children and youth.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in Acholi.
  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to youth development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
