Design & Build Officer
Job Summary
The Design & Build Officer will be responsible for planning, designing, coordinating, and supervising affordable housing projects from concept through completion while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and sustainability standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare architectural and engineering drawings.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate construction activities on site.
- Supervise contractors and construction teams.
- Ensure projects comply with building regulations and standards.
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks.
- Monitor project progress and prepare reports.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
- Support value engineering and sustainable building initiatives.
- Ensure health and safety compliance on project sites.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional registration with the relevant engineering or architectural body is an added advantage.
- Relevant experience in construction project management, design, or site supervision.
- Experience in affordable housing or sustainable construction is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, or similar design software.
- Knowledge of construction methods and building regulations.
- Project planning and coordination.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
