General Summary
The DLO will support TB logistics management in districts covered by the cluster office in line with MoH standards. S/he will ensure close monitoring of TB commodities for optimal stock level, quality of drugs, forecasting, distribution and good storage practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support health facilities and districts to compile and submit accurate HMIS and programmatic logistics reports according to project, donor and MoH timelines
- Support development and follow up of logistics and supply chain related activity plans in supported health facilities.
- Support development of SOPs to guide facility teams to appropriately handle HIV and TB commodities using standard inventory management tools
- Support mentorship and training efforts to build capacity of district and facility teams to mange health logistics related to TB and HIV/AIDS care.
- Support CMEs and dissemination of information updates related to logistics management.
- Support activities that ensure proper storage of drugs at dispensing units
- Work with district teams to conduct joint TSS visits to HFs.
- Maintain trackers for supported Health facilities and districts on logistics KPIs such as:
- Clients enrolled on TB care
- Consumption reports
- Stock status level
- Key challenges and remedial actions
- Status on logistics tools
- Maintain trackers of order fulfilment rates from MoH and other partners.
- Support continued mentorship and scale up of e-LMIS across supported Health Facilities
- Participate in key Supply Chain Management (SCM) meetings such as regional SCM meetings, therapeutic drug committees etc.
- Support distribution and stores management of project office commodities.
- Any other duties as may reasonably be assigned.
Academic Qualifications
Diploma in Pharmacy
Person Specification
- Diploma in Pharmacy.
- Full and active registration with the Allied Medical Practitioner’s Council.
- Training in supply chain management for TB and HIV/AIDS logistics.
- Experience and up-to-date knowledge of the national medical logistics systems
- Additional experience in logistics management of TB commodities.
- At least 2 years’ experience in logistics management.
- Computer knowledge and skills as well as good presentation and report writing skills.
- Good interpersonal and team management skills.
