Job Purpose
This role is responsible for promoting a fair, consistent, and legally compliant disciplinary framework within the organization. The role ensures that all disciplinary matters are handled promptly, objectively, and in alignment with company policies, labor laws, and best HR practices. This position provides guidance to managers, supports investigations, coordinates disciplinary hearings, and drives initiatives that foster positive employee behavior, accountability, and a harmonious workplace culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities.
- Advising managers/supervisors and other stakeholders in the area on all disciplinary matters and grievance handling procedures
- Investigating all grievances, disputes and making prompt reports on them to the Senior HRBP
- Correct interpretation of existing employment agreements (Collective Agreements for unionised employees and other policies to employees and line managers.
- Guide, advice and counsel employees in line with the disciplinary code of conduct and regulations governing employment.
- Ensuring compliance of company disciplinary processes and procedures to relevant labour laws.
- Conducting exit interviews
- Managing employees’ complaints
- Prompt resolution of labour (Employee Relations) matters through review, documentation and fact-finding.
- Acting with a high degree of integrity and ensuring that all cases assigned to them are documented and acted upon timely.
- Consult and advise HR teams to ensure compliance with legal and administrative requirements
- Prepare ER written materials for documentation and conveying information e.g. disciplinary hearing minutes and sanction letters
- Participating in legal hearings to provide testimony and monitoring proceedings in accordance with relevant labour laws
- Supporting the Senior HRBP to manage disciplinary hearings and the disciplinary handling process.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in employee relations or HR generalist roles, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
Key Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems.
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint.
