Major role of the ESH officer is to ensure compliance, prevent and eliminate injury and sickness to the employees.
Key Responsibilities
To assist the company to comply with safety laws in systematic and organized approach.
Periodically inspect workplace and machinery to minimize or eliminate potential hazards such as, wrong working methods, high noise levels, contaminated drinking water, polluted air quality or toxic chemicals etc.
Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
Identify, develop and carryout relevant safety-related training programs.
Keep record of safety-related accidents within a particular time frame.
Recommend appropriate protective equipment that workers should wear while carrying out tasks.
Supervise the installation of potentially harmful equipment and the disposal of hazardous substances.
Stop the continuation of processes that are deemed harmful to the health of workers.
Monitor compliance with safety procedures.
Review existing safety policies and update them where necessary.
Draft inspection reports to document inspection findings.
Assess possible risks and ensure that preventive measures are taken.
Ensure waste management is done in an appropriate manner.
Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
Education and Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required
Work Experience
3 years of related experience and in a similar industry; FMCG
