Position Overview
The Female Dispenser will assist in providing quality pharmaceutical care, dispensing medications accurately, and delivering customer service to patients. Based at the Jinja branch (Arcade 82) or Head Office, the successful candidate will offer basic patient counseling, maintain strict confidentiality, and work flexibly within the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Medication Dispensing: Accurately process and dispense prescribed medications and over-the-counter health products.
- Patient Care & Counseling: Provide clear instructions to patients regarding dosage, usage, basic counseling, and administrative instructions.
- Customer Service: Deliver customer support to pharmacy visitors while ensuring high standards of patient care.
- Confidentiality & Compliance: Safeguard sensitive patient records, prescription histories, and medical data.
- Team Collaboration: Work flexibly alongside pharmacists and healthcare staff to maintain smooth operational workflows.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Minimum of a Diploma in Pharmacy or Nursing.
- Experience: 2 years of experience working in a community pharmacy is considered an added advantage.
- Core Competencies & Skills:
- Basic knowledge of drugs and medical conditions.
- Good pharmaceutical dispensing skills.
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Basic patient counseling capabilities.
- Commitment to patient data confidentiality.
- Flexible mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
