Position Overview

The facility is urgently seeking a dedicated Female Nurse to manage day-to-day nursing and patient advisory services within a community drug shop in Kyegegwa. The successful candidate will deliver primary care, dispense basic medication under guidelines, offer patient counseling, and communicate effectively with local community members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Triage & Care: Assess patient needs, take vital signs, and provide basic primary nursing care and first aid.
  • Medication Administration: Assist in dispensing over-the-counter and prescribed medications while explaining correct dosage and administration instructions.
  • Patient Consultation: Provide clear health advisory and patient counseling in local languages to ensure patient understanding and compliance.
  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness, stock inventory records, and proper storage conditions for pharmaceutical supplies.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

  • Gender Preference: Female.
  • Education: Certificate or Diploma in Nursing (Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse) from a recognized institution.
  • Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in Runyankole, Runyoro, or Rutooro to effectively communicate with local clients.
  • Experience: Prior experience working in a clinic, drug shop, or community pharmacy setting is an added advantage.
  • Attributes: Urgent availability, compassionate patient care, integrity, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
