The Finance Associate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth, compliant, and efficient running of all financial operations in Uganda. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and possess a solid grasp of accounting principles and local financial regulations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Accounting
Data Entry: Meticulously enter all approved cash transactions into the accounting software (QuickBooks) to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Petty Cash Management: Prepare and disburse petty cash payments in accordance with company policies and procedures, ensuring proper documentation and accountability.
Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of petty cash and expense accounts to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash balances to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet all payment obligations.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to all applicable financial regulations and internal control procedures.
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, providing accurate and timely financial information to management.
Other Duties
Asset Register: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date asset register, tracking company assets and recording any changes.
Invoice Processing: Review and process invoices, verifying accuracy and coding them appropriately for payment.
Vendor Management: Maintain positive relationships with vendors, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
Document Management: File all finance and administrative documents in a well-organized and professional manner, ensuring easy retrieval and compliance with record-keeping requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field with 2- 4 years of experience.
Part or full qualification in CPA (Uganda) is required.
Strong knowledge of Uganda’s financial compliance standards and statutory filing processes.
Previous experience in the insurance industry is preferred and considered an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks), and data analysis tools.
Sound interpersonal and communication skills.
