Finance Officer - CO & Projects job at Welthungerhilfe (WHH)

Background:

Welthungerhilfe (WHH) is one of Germany’s largest non-governmental aid and development agencies, operating in Uganda since 1986. The Finance Officer will support the WHH Country Office finance department and various projects across the country.

Responsibilities:

• Proper management of project funds in compliance with regulations.
• Oversee bookkeeping, cost allocation, and financial documentation.
• Support budget control, financial statements, and donor reporting.
• Review and approve payments, vouchers, and deductions.
• Monthly reconciling, statutory returns, and refinancing control.
• Project setups, budget coordination, and financial system management.
• Inventory, equipment, and asset records management.
• Support audits, procurement reviews, and financial training.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• CPA, CIMA, or ACCA membership.
• Minimum five years’ experience in project financial administration.
• Proven experience with donor-funded grants.
• Proficient in financial software and Office 365 applications.

Experience:
