Role Context
The Finance Officer will be responsible for supporting the financial operations of the Uganda Country Office. This includes managing accounts payable and receivable, processing payments, maintaining financial records, and assisting with financial reporting. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong accounting skills and a commitment to ChildFund's mission.
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and receivable in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare and process payments to vendors and staff.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with ChildFund's financial policies and procedures.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Perform other finance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience Needed
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a non-profit organization.
