As part of its commitment to organizational growth and excellence, ITM Uganda is currently seeking to recruit a Finance Associate. this role is aimed at strengthening the finance team and ensuring effective financial operations, accountability, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Manage day to day accounting tasks, including accounts payable/ receivable, general ledger entries and reconciliations.
- Process and manage payroll for all employees in a timely and accurate manner.
- prepare and file tax returns ( NSSF, PAYE ,WHT & VAT ) in compliance with Uganda tax regulations.
- Maintain financial records and ensure accuracy through regular audits and checks.
- Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external use.
- Handle invoicing , expense tracking and budget management .
- Ensure compliance with all accounting standards, tax regulations and company policies.
- Assist with monthly , quartely, and annual financial closings.
- Monitor cash flow and manage financial risks.
- Use QuickBooks to track transactions, generate reports , and manage financial data.
- Work with external auditors and tax advisors as required.
- Assist the HR team with financial aspect related to employee benefits and compensation
- Support ad--hoc finance and tasks as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- A Level 2 CPA (U) OR ACCA qualification is required.
- 3+ years of experience in finance, accounting, payroll, and tax filing.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and Uganda tax regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Experience in payroll processing and managing employee benefits.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
