Job Summary: The Finance Officer contributes to the efficient and effective financial and administrative management of the main office in Kampala as well as they field offices in Moroto and Yumbe, with a particular responsibility for the financial management of projects.

Main Tasks:

• Responsible for budgeting, financial quality assurance and monitoring and reporting of expenditures of projects
  
• Provide monthly updates, with brief analysis, on project budgets,
  
• Support the Programme Officers and Project Managers in developing budgets for proposals
  
• Assist in ensuring all office financial tasks (project and office budget/operations) are completed accurately managed in agreement with the Head of Finance
  
• Ensure that the Financial Manual rules and guidelines are followed
  
• Carry out due diligence of partners, and train and build capacity of partners
  
• Keep updated on special donor financial ‘requirements, including Danida, EU, ECHO, UNHCR, WFP and others

Key qualifications and experience:

• Minimum of a degree in B’COM (Accounting) or BBA( Accounting) and preferably with a CPA/ACCA accreditation and at least 4 years of experience working in a similar position with an INGO
  
• Proven capacity to prioritize tasks, plan and organize your own efforts to meet objectives and deadlines
  
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and experience in working with a partner based approach
  
• Eye for detail
  
• Strong analytical skills
