The IDI's GHS deaprtment seeks to hire a quantitative economist who will work with the technical team leads to utilise the existing GHS department data to develop cost-effective models for program implementation, health emergencies, preparedness, and response.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support analysis of data on programs expenditure, disease economic burden, and public health investment.
  • Support the development of economic models for evaluating health interventions (e.g., cost-benefit, cost-effectiveness, and return on investment) under the GHS department
  • Support macroeconomic simulations and forecasting related to epidemic preparedness and outbreak response.
  • Contribute to economic evaluations of policies related to health systems strengthening and pandemic preparedness.

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Economics or related field. A masters in Health Economics is an added advantage.
  • Recent graduate with GPA of 4.0 and above from a chartered university.
  • Foundational understanding of health economic evaluation methodologies and public finance principles.

  • Understanding of public health systems, global health financing, or international development economics is an advantage.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with attention to detail
  • High level of initiative, curiosity, and a passion for applied economic research.

  • Team-oriented and able to work in multicultural, interdisciplinary settings.
  • Organized, adaptable, and eager to contribute to real-world problem solving.
