About Group Vivendi Africa (GVA) Teams ?

More specifically, you will join our Africa Human Resources Department, made up of around thirty people supporting all our operational teams. Within this department, you will take on the role of HR Manager for GVA Uganda, supervising an HR assistant in charge of administrative support and operational HR activities. You will ensure the implementation of the Group’s HR strategic guidelines within the subsidiary, supporting a perimeter of around forty employees.
Your rôle and responsabilities
Contribute to defining the HR strategy
- Gather needs and expectations from various departments regarding HR issues.
- Propose and validate HR project plans and timelines with management.
- Conduct economic, legal, and social monitoring (tracking HR strategies of companies in the sector).
Provide guidance and support to managers and operational teams
- Advise managers on various HR matters (labor law, training, recruitment, employment contracts, onboarding, performance reviews, career development/mobility, compensation, employee representatives, disciplinary procedures, termination…).
- Ensure all HR procedures are correctly applied by operational teams.
- Implement and oversee HR policies and projects.
Manage and monitor HR projects within the defined strategy
- Contribute to preparing the HR budget (payroll control, skills development plan…).
- Implement HR monitoring and reporting tools (dashboards).
- Oversee preparation of the social report (data collection, indicators, updates), ensure analysis and communication.
Lead and negotiate with employee representatives
- Maintain and develop relationships with employee representative bodies (staff delegates, labor inspectorate, etc.).
- Communicate with social partners on HR initiatives.
- Organize elections for employee representative bodies.
- Ensure implementation and legal follow-up of collective agreements.
Personnel administration and HR development
- Supervise payroll administration and personnel management (payroll, employee exits, social declarations…).
- Develop HR dashboards to track staff activity (absenteeism, compensation, leave, training, time-savings accounts…).
- Identify training needs, define priorities, build the training plan, and oversee its implementation.
- Guarantee compliance with social regulations and legal obligations related to social protection and health (labor code, collective agreements, internal regulations…).
About You ?
- You hold a Master's degree in Human Resources, Employment Law, or Social Sciences.
- You have at least 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist and have already held an HR Manager or similar role.
- You are versatile and have strong knowledge across all HR disciplines (HR development, payroll, labor law).
- You demonstrate autonomy and discretion.
- You have excellent interpersonal skills.
- You are rigorous and responsive.
- You take initiative.
- You have experience with payroll software — proficiency in Sage is a plus.
And recruitment process ?
A first phone call with the recruiter + 1 interview with our HR Manager GVA Group + 1 interview with our HR Director GVA Group + 1 informal coffee with the teams, around 3 weeks !
