JOB DETAILS:
Task description
The Volunteer will be performing the tasks below;
• Support coordination of UNICEF response to the EVD outbreak in Uganda
• Provide technical support to the Ministry of Health at national and subnational level for efficient
• Represent UNICEF at coordination meetings with feedback to UNICEF Chief of Child Survival and Development.
• Provide technical support to MOH in preparations and development of response plans and workplans and their implementation
• Facilitate and support supplies distribution, reporting and end-user monitoring
• Monitor and provide support to community related trainings, community dialogues with UNICEF funding.
• Undertake field visits to health facilities and communities for needs assessment as guided by UNICEF. • Participate in UNICEF TeT task force meetings as when scheduled.
• Share weekly and monthly field reports detailing issues around supported pillars as assigned.
• Submit project activity summary report with key achievements, challenges, and recommendations to address future gaps
• Provide any other support as may be needed by UNICEF

Required education level
Master degree or equivalent in public health, medicine and surgery, pharmacy, or similar area of study. A first-level university degree or equivalent in combination with relevant training and/or professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree

Skills and experience
Experience in public health emergency preparedness and response or other relevant programmes at national and/or international level. Experience in Ebola response is an asset, as is experience working in the UN or other international development organization; Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills; Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
