Our client, a reputable educational institution with over 20 years of dedicated service, a workforce of 230 staff, and an enrolment of over 3,000 learners, seeks to recruit a competent and experienced Human Resources Officer. The HR Officer will manage HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance with labour laws, and staff welfare.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes.
  • Oversee employee relations, disciplinary processes, and grievance handling.
  • Administer performance management and staff development programs.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, statutory requirements, and HR policies.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Support payroll and benefits administration.
  • Promote employee engagement and a positive work culture.
  • Provide HR advisory support to management and staff.
  • Coordinate training and staff development initiatives.
  • Prepare HR reports and workforce analytics.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., CHRP, IHRM membership) is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and professional skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.

Experience needed

Minimum of three (3) years' relevant work experience.
