Description
Tenna and Pharma Laboratories is hiring a Laboratory Manager with the following key responsibilities;
Reports to: Laboratory Director
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate laboratory technologists and support staff to ensure efficient laboratory operations.
- Ensure compliance with the facility’s policies and Gulf Health Council (GHC) guidelines in medical diagnostics.
- Oversee laboratory quality management systems, accreditation processes, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate biosafety and biosecurity practices within the laboratory environment.
- Serve as a member of the Procurement Committee and participate in procurement planning, decision-making, and consolidation of procurement needs for the Laboratory, Clinical, and Radiology departments.
- Oversee and ensure that quality control tests are run routinely to ensure quality standard results are achieved.
- Undertake the role of stock and inventory management of the organization.
- Participate in External Quality Assessment (EQA) and proficiency testing programs.
- Review, verify, and authorize patient laboratory results in a timely manner.
- Monitor equipment maintenance, inventory management, and laboratory supplies.
- Work closely with the Business Development Officer to support the expansion of laboratory services and company operations.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulatory requirements, and ethical laboratory practices.
- Oversee and coordinate monthly performance reporting for the Laboratory ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and accountability.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Biomedical Laboratory Technology from a reputable institution.
- Must be registered with a relevant professional regulatory body and possess a valid practicing license.
- Proven experience of 3-5 years managing a busy medical diagnostic laboratory.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory accreditation standards, quality management systems, and biosafety practices.
- Experience in GHC medical screening processes is an added advantage.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multidisciplinary teams effectively.
