JOB DETAILS:
The Laboratory Technician will ensure that the flour is of high quality

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist with the following functions:
• Perform job tasks in a safe manner in compliance with safety programs and procedures.
• Prepare solutions suitable for laboratory tests.
• Carry out daily tests, interpret results and generate a report
• Carry out Quality Assurance.
• Perform and record lab tests and quality checks on flour sample pursuant, company policy, standard laboratory practices and quality assurance protocols.
• Ensure ISO AND UNBS policies and procedures are followed and enforced throughout the facility.
• Maintain simple laboratory records and inventory for supplies and reagents.
• Conduct non-technical routine laboratory tests and procedures under the direction of quality assurance manager and chief miller.
• Clean up and dispose of spills according to company policy and applicable regulations.
• Open, separate, number and arrange specimens for laboratory examination and trace.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies by cleaning and maintaining quality assurance records.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in science laboratory technology (Chemistry), Industrial chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology.
• Training in laboratory safety and IISO 17025 Laboratory quality Management system is an added advantage.
• Two years of experience.
• Experience in wheat flour Laboratory is an added advantage.
• Ability to detect odors and the ability to understand and discern safety warningsystems.
• Abe to work under pressure.
• Good Laboratory practices.
• Good communication skills.
• Analytical skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Eagerness to learn.
