JOB PURPOSE

To provide specialized Laboratory services in wildlife health management.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collecting and examining animal samples and reporting the results.
  • Referring samples to other labs and ensure that protocols are followed.
  • Breeding and training lab animals for research and science education programs
  • Carrying out science education activities using laboratory animals.
  • Establishing a database of necropsy results and creating a system of storing tissue sections
  • Undertaking research and project activities.
  • Collaborating in breeding programs and learning initiatives.
  • Preparing work plans and budgets for laboratory requirements.
  • Developing wildlife laboratory standard operating procedures and guidelines
  • Establishing a repository system for animal tissues and processed slide for future reference.

  • Diploma in Laboratory Technology from a recognized Institution.
