About the Role

ABSA Bank is recruiting Lead Generators for two positions:

  • Universal Retail Lead Generator
  • Agent Support Advisor (Agent Banking)

The successful candidates will drive customer acquisition, business growth, relationship management, and compliance while expanding ABSA's retail and agent banking business across Southwestern Uganda.

Role 1: Universal Retail Lead Generator

Purpose

  • Grow the branch's retail portfolio by:
  • Selling consumer lending products
  • Selling retail asset and liability products
  • Generating quality sales leads
  • Acquiring and retaining customers
  • Growing the branch's asset and liability book

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development (80%)

  • Meet assigned sales targets
  • Identify customer needs and recommend suitable products
  • Cross-sell banking products and services
  • Generate and convert quality sales leads
  • Submit accurate customer applications
  • Comply with operational risk, KYC and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements

2. Customer Service (10%)

  • Deliver excellent customer service
  • Resolve customer complaints and queries promptly
  • Process customer applications within service standards
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the Line Manager
  • Coordinate with Operations, Credit and KYC teams

3. Compliance & Operational Excellence (10%)

  • Ensure accuracy of all customer documentation
  • Maintain KYC compliance
  • Support successful audit outcomes
  • Follow account-opening procedures
  • Adhere to operational risk and AML policies

Role 2: Agent Support Advisor (Agent Banking)

Purpose

  • Support the expansion and performance of ABSA's Agent Banking network by:
  • Recruiting new agents
  • Retaining and supporting existing agents
  • Growing agent business
  • Providing technical support for agent banking services
  • Building long-term customer relationships

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Growth & Retention (60%)

  • Recruit and onboard profitable agents
  • Build relationships with businesses and customers
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities
  • Increase revenue from existing agents
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts
  • Submit accurate application documentation
  • Ensure compliance with KYC and AML regulations

2. Customer Service (30%)

  • Deliver exceptional customer service
  • Resolve customer and agent queries
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships
  • Understand customer business needs
  • Recommend product improvements
  • Support agents with terminal functionality and Agent Banking systems
  • Collaborate with Operations, Credit and KYC teams

3. Compliance & Operational Excellence (10%)

  • Ensure accurate agent onboarding documentation
  • Maintain KYC compliance
  • Follow agent onboarding procedures
  • Escalate unresolved compliance issues
  • Support successful audits

Minimum Qualifications

  • First or Second Class Bachelor's Degree
  • Credit (Grade 6 or better) in Mathematics and English at O-Level
  • Two Principal Passes at A-Level
  • Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Business, Commerce or Management Studies (Required)

Preferred Experience

  • Sales experience, preferably within banking or financial services
  • Competitor product sales experience
  • Field sales and customer acquisition experience
  • Relationship management experience

  • Understanding of local banking regulations
  • KYC procedures
