BRAC Bank Uganda Ltd is hiring a Legal Officer to support the Legal Department in executing its mandate by ensuring that the Bank’s legal interests are protected, compliance obligations are met, and institutional risk is proactively managed in line with applicable laws and internal frameworks.

Main Job Responsibilities:

  • Carry out and coordinate administration activities in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Track and record the utilization and condition of BUBL assets (e.g., vehicles, generators, and other equipment), ensuring proper handling and compliance with policy.
  • Follow and apply BRAC Uganda Bank policies and procedures in all administrative tasks.
  • Monitor fuel consumption for vehicles, maintain fuel usage records, and prepare periodic fuel reports to support cost control and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Administration Supervisor and branch teams to track the commencement and expiry of tenancy agreements at all BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd CI/Satellite branches, and work with the procurement and logistics department to ensure timely renewal of tenancy agreements.
  • Support the Administration unit in maintaining a ‘Satisfactory/Acceptable’ audit rating by conducting regular self-assessments, keeping proper documentation, and promptly addressing audit exceptions under the guidance of the supervisor.
  • Close unit, branch audit, compliance, risk, and Bank of Uganda (BOU) findings within stipulated timelines.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and stock registers in accordance with policy.
  • Monitor stock levels and raise requests for timely replenishment.
  • Receive supplies from vendors, checking for quality and quantity against purchase orders.
  • Issue supplies to different branches and departments as per approved requests.
  • Maintain proper documentation of received and issued items.
  • Update inventory records and generate periodic reports on stock usage and balances.
  • Work with the procurement team to track deliveries and resolve supply-related issues.
  • Report any discrepancies or damages to management for corrective action.
  • Oversee the proper handling, safe storage, and safeguarding of supplies to minimize risks of damage, loss, or misuse.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ working experience in a similar role in a busy environment.
  • Any professional qualification in Administration, Procurement, or a related postgraduate course is an added advantage.
