Job Summary

The Legal and Compliance Officer ensures that the organization operates within the legal and regulatory framework in Uganda. The role focuses on managing legal risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing legal guidance to the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on company operations, policies, and contracts.
• Draft, review, and manage legal agreements and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Ugandan laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Maintain regulatory filings and statutory records.
• Monitor legal developments that may affect company operations.
• Manage legal disputes and liaise with external legal counsel when necessary.
• Conduct internal compliance reviews and training.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB).
• Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre is an added advantage.
• 2–4 years relevant legal or compliance experience.
• Strong understanding of Ugandan corporate and regulatory law.

• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret legal documents and policies effectively.
