Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kampala for a Loans Officer at Umoja Microfinance (SMC) Ltd. The Loans Officer will be responsible for evaluating loan applications, conducting financial and credit assessments, and ensuring proper loan underwriting. They will manage loan origination, offer excellent customer service by guiding clients through the application process, and monitor repayments to maintain portfolio quality. Collaborative efforts in developing financial solutions tailored to client needs will also be a key part of the role.
Qualifications
- Experience in loan origination, underwriting, and as a Loan Officer
- Strong finance and credit assessment skills
- Proficiency in customer service with a client-focused approach
- Ability to work on-site and collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Prior experience in microfinance or financial institutions is an added advantage
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Evaluating loan applications
