JOB DETAILS:
Job Title: Medical Radiographer
Department: Radiology
Reports to: Head Radiology Department
Position Summary:
To carry out radiographic imaging for diagnosis, treatment and management of patients.
This job should be carried out with utmost transparency, professionalism and duty of care.

Duties and Responsibilities;
• Preparation of patients for radiographic/sonographic investigation and Treatment.
• Prepare and use Radiographic/Sonographic technology according to requests.
• Providing protection to patients against radiation and radioactive materials.
• Carrying out radiographic/sonographic imaging and submit reports to Clinician.
• Identifying and recommending referral of patients in need of specialized imaging.
• Maintaining radiographic operational equipment.
• Provide quality diagnostic images and archive.
• Participate in quality assurance tests on the equipment.
• Participate in education and training programmes.
• Assist physicians or radiologists during performance of interventional procedures.
• To adhere to professional code of conduct and ethics.
• The role of the Medical Radiographer cannot be limited to the specific duties and tasks detailed herein. S/he will be required to manage all unforeseen issues and circumstances and remain flexible to perform any other duties, as and when the need may arise.

Qualifications;
• Must have a Degree/Diploma in Medical Radiography/Imaging from a recognized
• Institution.
• Must be registered and licensed with the Allied Health Professionals Council.
• Additional training and certification for specialized areas like vascular ultrasound and echocardiography, CT, MRI and DEXA scan.

• Experience;
• At least 5(five) years working experience in active Primary Health Care settings:
• Experience in planning, organizing and coordinating health activities.
• Experience in Information management.

 Competences;
• Planning, organizing and coordinating.

• Records and Information management.
• Information Technology.
• Concern for quality and standards.
• Ethics, integrity and Time Management

Work Hours: 8


Experience in Months: 60

Level of Education:
Bachelor Degree
