The MEL Assistant will support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems, ensuring timely data collection, entry, and reporting to track project progress and inform decision-making. The role supports project teams in generating evidence for learning and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, verify, and enter project data using both digital and paper-based tools
  • Maintain clean and accurate MEL databases
  • Assist in generating reports, dashboards, and visual data summaries
  • Document success stories and lessons learned
  • Participate in reflection meetings, learning sessions, and community feedback loops
  • Build MEL capacity among project staff and volunteers

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation, or related field from a recognised institution
  • At least 2 years of MEL experience, preferably in NGO settings
  • Proficiency in Excel, KoboToolbox, Google Forms, or other digital tools
  • Attention to detail, confidentiality, and analytical skills
  • Willingness to travel and work in diverse communities
  • Fluent in Luo and able to ride a motorcycle with a valid riding permit.
