Job Summary

The MEAL Assistant will support the monitoring and evaluation activities of Programs/Projects. The role involves tracking program performance, ensuring data quality, and contributing to evidence-based decision-making to achieve program outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Monitoring & Data Collection

- Conduct regular field visits to monitor program implementation and verify reported data.

- Support the administration of baseline, endline, and quarterly indicator monitoring surveys.

- Collect and validate qualitative and quantitative data from beneficiaries (youth entrepreneurs).

- Monitor project inputs, outputs, outcomes, and impacts in line with the Logical Framework

2. Data Management & Reporting

- Enter, clean, and store data accurately and timely in the database and other data management systems.

- Assist in preparing indicator tracking tables (ITTs), dashboards, and evaluation summaries.

- Participate in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual MEAL reports.

- Support with data analysis to assess program performance against key indicators.

- Maintain an organized filing system for MEAL documents.

3. Evaluation & Learning

- Participate in outcome harvesting, success stories, and case study documentation.

- Support in organizing review meetings and learning sessions with stakeholders and programs staff.

- Identify challenges in implementation and recommend improvements in a timely manner.

4. Capacity Building & Compliance

- Train field staff, enumerators and partners on data collection tools and MEAL processes.

- Assist in other MEAL-related tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelors in Economics & Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, IT, or related field.

- At least 1–2 years of experience in M&E work with an NGO or development agency.

- Knowledge of M&E methodologies including Logical Frameworks, Theory of Change, and Results-Based Management.

Skills and Competencies

- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.

- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

- Good organizational and time-management skills.

Personal Attributes

- High integrity, honesty, and confidentiality.

- Team player with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
