Opportunity for Businesses to Get Graduates Equipped with Adequate Skills Through a Work Readiness Program tender at Enabel
OPPORTUNITY FOR BUSINESSES TO GET GRADUATES EQUIPPED WITH ADEQUATE SKILLS THROUGH A WORK READINESS PROGRAM
Background: European Union and Enabel
With funding from European Union, Enabel is implementing the WeWork Uganda (PSFU) and Enabel project in Uganda which provides decent jobs for youth (2024-2027) in which Enabel provides technical support to the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), a leading employer body in Uganda, which seeks to improve the employability of graduates, skilled workers, youth with or without formal education, and other institutions of higher learning.
The program targets youth aged 18-30 years with a special focus on female graduates to equip them with employability skills, competencies and attitudes that meet the labour market demands. It focuses on sectors such as tourism & hospitality, the green economy, manufacturing (including agro-processing), ICT, construction, transport & logistics, among others. Through the selected specialized training providers, the youth will acquire workplace readiness skills that improve their employability and self-employment.
The program is targeting a total of 1,200 beneficiaries, 70% female and 30% male, to be recruited. The bulk of the WeWork Uganda (PSFU) programme will be implemented by PSFU, a partner with Enabel who are the calling upon the private sector to express interest in this program by providing placement opportunities to the youth.
