Job Summary: The Packaging Team Leader is responsible for leading and motivating his team, managing production schedules, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. He leads a team of Packaging operators, manages the packaging process, and maintains a safe and hygienic work environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Leading, motivating, and guiding a team of packaging operators.
Assisting the Food controller with administrative tasks like packaging schedules and reports.
Packaging Team Leader to monitor packaging of products or the effectiveness of the machines, ensure an accurate amount is packed at the right quality.
Coordinate and plan packaging priorities, workflow, and schedule.
Identify and report operational and maintenance problems to prevent packaging delays.
Schedule routine inspection and maintenance of packaging machines to prevent machine breakdowns and malfunctioning.
Identifying and resolving packaging issues, such as equipment malfunctions or quality problems.
Appointing labor toward the smooth running of the packaging process.
Overseeing quality control throughout the packaging process.
Ensure safety measures and procedures are followed to reduce unexpected incidents and hazards.
Ensure the packaging process is carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Ensuring that packaging is completed before deadlines.
Procuring and monitoring the efficiency of packaging equipment.
Updating the food Controller on the status of packaging.
Liaising and coordinating packaging with other sections.
Resolving labor disputes, where requested.
Communicating daily objectives, performance updates, and important information to the team.
Completing process control documentation, recording material usage, and maintaining accurate records.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Diploma, in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or in a related field.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Biscuit Industry in a busy environment.
The ability to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively with team members.
Ability to identify and resolve packaging issues.
Knowledge of biscuit production processes, machinery, and equipment.
Understanding of quality control procedures and standards.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
Previous experience working in a related industry preferred.
Availability of working extended hours to meet deadlines, when necessary.
