JOB DETAILS:
Norvik Hospital Ltd is seeking a dedicated and skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team. The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical services to patients, supporting the Senior Pharmacist/ Pharmacy in charge in managing the dispensary, ensuring proper storage of medicines, and maintaining accurate records. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and a passion for delivering high-quality healthcare.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist the Senior Pharmacist in dispensing prescription medications and providing information to patients about their prescribed drugs.
• Accurately fill, label, and distribute medications in accordance with medical prescriptions.
• Maintain inventory control by checking pharmaceutical supplies, restocking medications, and informing the pharmacist of any shortages.
• Ensure proper storage and security of medications, including those requiring refrigeration or special handling.
• Prepare and package medication for inpatient and outpatient use, ensuring dosage accuracy.
• Keep accurate records of medication dispensation, patient information, and inventory using electronic systems.
• Assist in the preparation of compounded medications as directed by the pharmacist.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and assisting in pharmaceutical counseling.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, national drug regulations, and quality standards.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Pharmacy Technology from a recognized institution.
• Must be registered and licensed with the Allied Health Professionals Council.
• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Strong knowledge of drug names, dosages, and side effects.
• Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
