Supports Classroom coordinators by supervising and caring for children in playgroup during daily routines

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in supervising children throughout the school day, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
  • Assist with daily routines including arrival, departure, meals, toileting, rest, and transitions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and child-friendly classroom and play environment.
  • Provide care, comfort, and emotional support to children as needed.
  • Observe children’s behavior and wellbeing and report any concerns to the Teacher or Principal promptly.
  • Support learning activities by preparing materials and assisting children during lessons and play.
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures and report any concerns immediately.
  • Support positive behavior management using developmentally appropriate and Tonza approved approaches.
  • Assist with supervision during outdoor play, trips, events and school activities.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and appropriate boundaries with children and families.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate in Early Childhood Development preferred.
  • Experience working in a preschool or early childhood setting.
